Charleroi Area High School Marching Band Night at the Races
Looking for a fun night out this month? Come out for Night at the Races benefiting Charleroi Area Marching Band! This event is 21+ and BYOB. Doors open at 6:30pm and the first race is at 7:30pm. Contact a band booster member or a band parent to purchase tickets. There will be no tickets sold at the door. Tickets for entry, jockeys, and horses are all $10 each. This event is sponsored by Lock 4 Firehall in conjunction with Charleroi Band Boosters. Tom Simon, Broker/Owner/Realtor of Howard Hanna Simon Real Estate Services is a proud sponsor of this event. This past month he made a donation to the event and Jennifer DiPietrantonio accepted the check on behalf of the Charleroi Marching Band Boosters.
Belle Vernon Area Middle School 4th Annual 5k Color Run/Walk
Belle Vernon Area Middle School will host their 4th Annual 5k Color Run on Saturday, September 29, 2018. This community event is focused on having fun with family and friends while promoting exercise and a healthy lifestyle. Participants of the event will run or walk a 5k course through the community while being blasted with color from color stations along the course, followed by a post run celebration with music, food, and a Chinese auction. The 5k Color Run/Walk will begin at Belle Vernon Area Middle School, located at 500 Perry Avenue, Belle Vernon and run throughout the surrounding streets of Washington Township. The event will kick off promptly at 8:30am.
This event benefits all students of the Belle Vernon Area Middle School by providing quality educational programs and activities. The monies raised in recent years have been used to offset the cost for BVAMS’s annual Ethnic Heritage Festival, National History Day, PSSA Pep Rally, Reward Incentives for Students, Novels for the Reading Program, Career Day expenses, Umbrellas for the Outdoor Cafeteria Patio, End of Year BVAMS Picnic and the school wide field trip to the Carnegie Science Center and Flight 93 Memorial in Somerset County. The remaining funds are made available for Teacher mini grants . Teachers apply throughout the year for funds that will have an educational benefit for the students.

Carroll Township Volunteer Fire Department’s 1st Annual Car Show, Cruise & Swap Meet
Carroll Township Volunteer Fire Department will be hosting their 1st Annual Car Show, Cruise and Swap Meeting Saturday September 1st and Sunday September 2nd. The event will run from Dawn to Dusk. The event will be held at the Fire Station located at 988 State Route 837, Monongahela, PA 15063. Join us for family fun, food and entertainment. Stop by and see some of the Mon Valley’s best classic, antique, or customized vehicles and anything on wheels, all while supporting your local Fire Department. There will be custom made awards for 12 classes. The car show is hosted by both the Carroll Township Fire Department and the Bona Fides Car Club.

15th Annual St. Sebastian Golf Outing
St. Sebastian will be hosting their 15th Annual Golf Outing and Cedarbrook Golf Course Registration begins at 8;00 a.m.; Shotgun start is at 9:30 a.m.; Four Person Scramble; 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place Prizes. Price is $95/person and includes golf, golf car, hot breakfast, snacks, lunch at turn, dinner, beer and a welcome gift. Belle Vernon Area Leopard Boosters
The Belle Vernon Area Leopard Boosters organization is a non-profit booster organization supporting the Athletic Programs of the Belle Vernon Area School District.
The purpose of the organization is to promote, support, and enhance the athletic programs of the Belle Vernon Area School District.
The organization is also committed to aid the Athletic Department in the fulfillment of the goals set to achieve equal treatment of ALL student athletes and programs of the Belle Vernon Area School District.
Goodwill and commitment toward the goal of achieving equal opportunity that has been identified among those associated with interscholastic athletics, as well as among leaders of the Belle Vernon Area School District, ensures confidence that the district will be successful in achieving this goal in the foreseeable future.
The organization is headed by the Athletic Director Matt Humbert.
