Route 51 South Ramp to Route 201 Scheduled to Close Monday June 25, 2018
Construction for the Peasant Village Lane bridge, more commonly known as the off ramp from Route 51 South to Route 201, is scheduled to begin on June 25, 2018. This construction is part of PennDOT’s Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. This project is a public-private partnership with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and Plenary Walsh Keystone Partners, an initiative to replace 558 aging bridges throughout Pennsylvania. These projects are utilizing a form of prefab structure that is ordered well before the bridge is to be replaced. They then dig out the old bridge, set the new supports in the ground and move in the new structure where it can then be surfaced to match the existing road. Replacing the bridges will provide motorists with new, modern structures and allow PennDOT to remove them from their structurally deficient list. Closing this bridge allows them to make improvements to the structural soundness of the bridge to make it safer for motorists to use.
During construction the off ramp will be shut down, disabling motorists from exiting Route 51 South to Route 201, also known as Rostraver Road. This can be deceiving because they installed a temporary bridge going through Howard Hanna Simon’s parking lot. This temporary bridge is ONLY for people going to the Peasant Valley Medical Center and the residents living above the medical center. If you are going to the Peasant Valley Medical Center, it is important to know you cannot access it from Route 51 South, it can only be accessed from Route 201 (Rostraver Road). Construction was originally scheduled to begin during the week of June 11th then postponed to June 18th. Construction is now set to begin on June 25th and end in late July – early August. PennDOT has estimated that the project will take 6 weeks to complete. The schedule of events may change due to unfavorable weather. A detour will be available to show how to get from Route 51 South to our office at 1751 Rostraver Road. Shown below is the best route to get around construction:
From Route 51S: At Sheetz, make a left on to Willowbrook Road, at the Y make a right to continue on Willowbrook Road, at the stop sign by the golf course, make a right on to Rostraver Road (Route 201), Howard Hanna Simon Real Estate Services will be on your right.

Route 51 South Ramp to Route 201 is officially closed! To access Area 51 Barbeque and Pleasant Village Professional Plaza that houses Rostraver Imaging, office of Shobha Asthana M.D., and offices of Charles P. Gennaula M.D. and Pushpa Kumari, M.D. please use the bridge that has been placed in the lower portion of our parking lot as seen below. Also pictured below are photos of the businesses for reference.
