Howard Hanna Simon Real Estate Services Annual Chow Chow

Tom Simon, Howard Hanna owner/broker, said the luncheon started in 1998 as a small office event where employees brought a covered dish.  Our family-oriented business views quality care for children as a priority. Every year the tradition attracts more than 200 people each year.

The event benefits Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital in Carroll Township.  The proceeds directly go to the hospital’s Children’s Free Care Fund, which provides lifesaving health care to children in need around the Mon Valley. Over the past 16 years the event has raised and donated in excess of $207,000. “This was created for children who have a medical need, but do not have insurance,” Simon said. “Even beyond that if someone does have insurance and a child needs treatment every day at the hospital but the family is struggling to find gas money, we will use funds to provide gas money so that parents or guardians are able to take children to treatment that they so desperately need.”

Tom Simon and his team are hoping to raise even more each year for MVH.

In addition to lunch, the event features live auctions with items such as signed sports memorabilia, themed gift baskets, gift certificates, photo booth, & surprise visit from the one and only Santa Clause.

“Every year we have a lot of fun and every year I feel truly blessed to be a part of this,” Simon said. “It really is a special event that so much love and work goes into year round by my staff, who work tirelessly to pull this off.”
